The Justifying Reason For Holding Wealth - Sage Thiruvalluvar
In Thirukkural

The Sage Says “As the common village well stores water, for common good, the wealth of  a wise rich man,  is for the good of humanity”.
It is not for excessive personal gratification, personal enjoyment.

Meaning, “Before you share wealth, you have to create it” only fools will talk about redistribution of wealth, without first creating it.
This is because all wealth is not alwaya naturally created ; some of it is definitely created and manmade.
The trusteeship principle espoused by the Mahatma also, is a similar concept.
The fundamental of this is the world runs on LOVE, HARDWORK, COMPASSION& SACRIFICE.  There is no compulsion in this.  It is freely chosen.  This comes from the inner volition of each good man.  Both the receiver and provider gain and grow.  It is part of the “PanchamahaYagnas” the duty of every Indian.  This is the unique lesson from India.

The sage Thiruvalluvar reminds us only of this.

The Secret of Happiness , as per SAGE –Thiruvalluvar

The Secret of Happiness
SAGE –Thiruvalluvar

The Grand Sage of South India, Thiruvalluvar says “The Greatest wealth is not to want anything.
This does not mean a situation of non-desire, it means detachment from desires. Many of us cannot find happiness if our desires are not fulfilled. Equanimity is needed. If you want something , then you are its slave.  So he says

“If you keep away from something, then you cannot hurt by it” [cigarette, drinks, praise etc.,] If you want it, then you will be also hurt by it.
So he says

”Ups and downs are not uncommon in life, but retain your balance and be equanimous.” We feel  elated when something good happens and then find ourselves in the dumps when something bad occurs. Keep your heart equanimous, says the sage.
I feel there is a grand scheme of the advocates of consumerism that we forget our past,  our culture, our values, our rich treasures like Thirukkural and become mad in the crazy rush for instant gratification.
It is our duty to upgrade ourselves, but not by losing our identity or by paying mere lip service to our ancient treasures of knowledge and proven practical wisdom.
The principle above can be practiced in Food & Talk, I am  trying to do my bit here and hope to continue this effort to propagate the KURAL in the future also.

Each day I come across various manifestations of the Thirukkural as examples demonstrating the sagacityand fore sight of the great Sage Thiruvallivar.
